Riding the eBike really delights, way easier to pedal uphill; much faster ride times; fun. My only concern was leaning down and forward a little too much. I looked into that and found a solution – a light adjustment to the reach length. I went to REI for a bike fitting check and they affirmed my seat and handlebars position was OK. So I felt this little adjustment pulling the handlebars up and in a hair would be. I picked up a slightly lifting stem to replace the flatter one that came with the Yamaha. See it here:

I needed to avoid lifting the handlebars up too much higher because the brake levers are attached with hydraulic tubes to the hydraulic disk brakes and I did not want to have to lengthen them.
I installed the revised upward stem as pictured here.

It turns out my previous bike’s hand grips measured 40.5 inches above the ground – the “Grip to Ground Measure” (see below). The new, unaltered Yamaha’s grips measured 38.5 inches above the ground (two inches lower).
This revision brings the grips to 39.5 inches off the ground and a little closer. Good enough. Also its just a bit of getting used to.
